  • Analyze the key political, social, cultural and technological factors that have influenced the development of Asian media and communication

  • Identify and discuss the opportunities and challenges relating to Asian media and communication

  • Students will be assessed on their skills in formulating an argument, researching, analyzing, expressing and developing ideas to address the argument.

  • Students will also be assessed on their ability to apply relevant concepts and theories from the course to analyze the chosen prompt AND to select and use appropriate peer reviewed sources

Political institutions, processes, and ideologies impact economic policies, structures, and results, according to the idea. This method suggests analyzing legislation influencing ICTs and digital media within the communication context.

Public sphere

The public sphere is a place where people talk, debate, and deliberate about important issues. It offers a fresh viewpoint on public discourse and social communication.

Participatory culture

This notion covers ecosystems that enable individuals to create and share information and goods, becoming producers rather than consumers. As more people create and distribute online, growing communication technology accelerates this culture.

Example: Tinder has gained millions of Vietnamese users since its launch.
